CarrieTO Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Hello, Has anyone heard from the University of Toronto, York University, or Ryerson in terms of advanced standing MSW admits? PrettyVacant 1
millie Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I'm waiting to hear back from York too, did you apply for the 1 or 2 year? I'm going for the 2 year, people are posting that they have been wait-listed already as of 3 weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything! I have no idea if the ridiculous wait is good or bad..... there's not enough on here about Canadian schools! Hello, Has anyone heard from the University of Toronto, York University, or Ryerson in terms of advanced standing MSW admits?

CarrieTO Posted April 23, 2011 Author Posted April 23, 2011 Hi Again, Sorry I haven't been on here since the original post! Ryerson sent their offers out very early (mid-February); University of Toronto was early April and York (as usual) came out very late April. Funding packages are sent a few weeks after the offer of admission. My experience historically with York has been rather stressful and this MSW experience would have felt much the same if I hadn't already accepted from another school. They can be disorganized at times, leave students waiting for endless periods of time, etc. I would contact someone at the university IN the Faculty of Social Work (not the call centre through grad studies). Also, the advanced standing MSW and the two year MSW don't operate with the same timeframe in terms of offer letters. Kurlee 1

millie Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 thank you so much This is way too long. Myfile still says "no decision yet" and I haven't gotten a hold of anyone via phone who has helped me yet. I think I"m basically just going to assume it's a no go? I heard from the other 2 schools I applied to 3 months ago.
CarrieTO Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Heard anything from them yet? The least they could do is let you know if you have been placed on a waitlist. If it isn't reading declined then I would still have hope. Also, isn't there a Twitter account connected to York's Social Work program with updates? A William Wolrich (sp). Maybe try contacting him?
