Hey everyone!

So I've been accepted (unoffically, by the director of the program) to Baylor College of Medicine, one of my top two choices! My other top pick is Vanderbilt's IGP, which I'm interviewing at this weekend.

Since I've received the news I've gotten two offers for interviews from schools I'm not so interested in (their research doesn't align well with mine). Do you think it's okay to go ahead and decline these even though I don't have BCM's acceptance letter in my hands? I don't want to keep these other school's waiting, especially if they want to interview other potential students.

Also, I got an interview invitation at UT Houston Health Science Center- anybody have any experiences with their program? The fact that they're closely associated with MD Anderson Cancer Center really interests me.

Thanks in advance!! GradCafe is the only thing that's kept me sane the past few months.

I'm kind of a fraidy cat, so I would probably wait until I got the full-blown acceptance. Plus, if they've already sent it to the school, it shouldn't take too long to get to you! Just my two cents.

Yes, I'd wait to decline these other schools just in case you find that you are Steve Martin in that one movie where his daughter is getting married and he has to deal with everything going wrong about it, except in this case the daughter's wedding is your future in grad school. I mean, you're probably not Steve Martin. But just in case.

Haha, no I'm not, but funny enough I'm watching a Steve Martin movie on TV right now... what are the odds?
