UC San Diego, Mechanical Engineering PhD. Hooray!

Turned down Toronto, McGill, Imperial College and a Cornell M.Eng consolation prize. Was turned down by Berkeley.

I am going to University of Iowa for a MA in French/Second Language Acquisition. This school was my first choice because when I went to visit, I fell in love with the nice faculty and really felt like it was where I belonged. I applied to only one other school, University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, which turned me down. I was also going to apply to Madison, but when I visited, I didn't find the faculty friendly enough and I doubt I would have done any good work there.

Indiana University for my criminology Ph.D.

I'm moving to Bloomington at the end of June. I can't wait to get out of Florida!

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for Political Science. Here's hoping this alabama boy doesn't stick out like a sore thumb in the great white north (anywhere above tennessee is the great white north where I'm from).

You will be fine. An inordinate amount of people on campus are from outside America, let alone outside the state! Though I do not know how many Alabamian support groups there are. Just follow my advice from the coffee thread from February and everything will be great. And "fo' realz" as they say, if you have any questions, send me a message here. I will probably still be popping in here every new admissions cycle to offer soothing words to the "newbz!"

I might be following your own advice from that thread, myself, since I am currently definitively going to George Mason in the D.C. area for Public Policy! ... or the University of Delaware for Political Science :!: :?: :!: :?: Sure do have to decide by Monday, though! I never thought I would end up with two offers in relatively close proximity from the dueling academic interests tugging at my brain. This just makes it all the harder to decide.

Edit: Goin' with the underdog! Hellooooo, Delaware!

Concordia. Although living in NY could be great, where else can I live, learn to speak French while studying Art and not have it cost a mint?

Received an offer from Fordham University's History program, but settled on NYU.
