enam Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Hello everyone. I've been giving this a lot of thought but I still cannot make up my mind. Hopkins gave me $18k/yr and I still have not heard from American (which worries me since others have received funding emails). My problem lies in that I always wanted to live/work in DC since I'm interested in public policy. Early in the application process my top choice was AU but after hearing from JHU I'm no longer sure. JHU is a world renown university while the AU name does not always bode well on a resume. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

There are some views mentioning that AU is very well connected with the world of policy jobs. I think the same applies to JHU even though we do not have many information about it. If you take into account that SAIS is based in DC, then this normally creates a good reputation for JHU graduates in the DC market generally (this is a totally personal assumption). I also received an admission offer from JHU with a brave scholarship but still the program is very expensive and have not made my final decision. Good luck
