Post- Bac in Ceramics

I'm trying to get everything ready for my application to the University of Colorado's post-bac program (in ceramics) for the fall, but I was wondering if it's more beneficial to start the post bac in the spring? Then I would have a full year to work on my portfolio with no break in between. I think if I did do the fall/spring combo I would have to wait a semester before I could apply to schools versus doing the post bac spring/next fall I could apply near the end of the program.

What's everyone's opinion on that? Does it really matter as long as I'm in the program creating artwork?
