I saw several acceptances on the results board (including me). Now the big question, who is planning to go?

For the record, I'm considering it.

May I ask which program are you going for? I applied for MA in Media Studies, and I am expecting to hear sometime soon. I saw on results board that some people are already accepted..I really hope I can get in.

I got accepted for the MA anthro program, with only 1/3 funding though.. which is basically a rejection for me. As an international student, I don't see how I can cover the rest of the tuition and afford to live in NYC for a year.

as far as i know, the new school does not accept people into their phd program unless they have completed their MA program... meaning, all applicants who are not currently finishing the MA program in whatever department at the New School will only be considered for the MA program, which is hardly ever fully funded. applicants who are finished with or finishing the MA program at the New School are the only ones who are considered for phd admission and those accepted get funding for the phd program. again, that's only those who already finished or are finishing the MA program of the New School.

Since we are here I wanted to ask... I've been reading lots of mixed up reviews about the NSSR. Some say it's great, lots of class-discussion and mind-opened; Others say it's too leftist and above all it is not serious. Now I don't know what to think really... I'm an international student, so I don't know much about US universities anyway... can anyone PLEASE help me? I'm all confused!!
