bblucy Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) Being interested in China and IR, the University of Washington's JSIS-China Studies program has always jumped out at me. I’ve spent most of my time here on the Gov’t Affairs boards, and have been surprised/confused that no one there seems to be talking about the Jackson School of International Studies. Even with what (possibly too little) time I have spent searching through the Interdisciplinary Studies boards, I haven’t noticed a lot of discussion about JSIS (please point me to particular threads if there are discussions on the school that I may have missed). I genuinely am curious to know what other people think about this program (China Studies or JSIS, in general). Do most people view it as a stepping stone to getting a PhD or can it also properly prepare one for a career in IR? Good or bad or totally neutral, I'd love to hear others' opinions on UW...
