Nazal Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Have you been accepted or not? What kind of emails/electronic/paper feedback responses have you gotten etc.? For me, my status on the SGS website has changed within the last week from "Documents Pending" to "Decision Made"; but I have not gotten an email from UofT. What do you think the chances are that I got in? I'll preface this with some facts: I applied last year and didn't get in, however when I didn't get in my SGS status literally never changed from "Documents Pending" and I received my decline sometime in early May. Furthermore, this year I got an email mid-March (when they say they get out their first wave of accepts) inviting me to reception for a new Chair and I received no such email last year. Finally, since they say that their first "wave" of acceptances go out in March, and my status is "Decision Made", would that mean I'm accepted since my decision couldn't be made if I was wait-listed? Or does it simply mean that I am not what they are looking for so they already know not to even bother wait-listing me? Since my status is "Decision Made" already, I am very nervous because I understand some people have been getting emails letting them know that they have been accepted and I have received no such email. What have other people gotten from UofT?
werke Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I am in the same boat - received the invitation in March, haven't heard anything yet, and had my status update to 'Decision Made' yesterday. Here's hoping that we are in, keep me updated if you hear anything.
Nazal Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) Yeah I will, best of luck to both of us. I'm sure you're having the same problems sleeping and checking your mailbox incessantly that I have been having, haha. I should also note that I am living in Vancouver, so I am hoping the delay is at least partially due to the speed of Canada Post. Furthermore, I applied to UBC and have yet to hear a peep. werke Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Starting to go a little crazy as well. I'm located in Toronto, so I don't get the same comfort from distance. From the looks of it we're either in or rejected altogether. Hoping for the best!
Nazal Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 If it's any consolation the results page only shows students being accepted and no incidents of rejection so far. I don't have the cojones to call and ask, though.
werke Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I think you might be in luck - just got my acceptance package in the mail today. Hopefully see you in the fall!
Nazal Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 Hey what a coincidence mine just came in the mail too! Well, I'm 99% sure I'm going to UofT at this point so if I do I'll be sure to try and figure out who you were on the forums haha!

I am not sure where you are getting the 1 or 2 from but I assume 2 is the post-professional course and 1 is not in which case I would be 1. What about yourself?

I guess you didnt read the application package carefully. The master of architecture is 3.5 yrs program. However, there is advance standing base on undergrad degree/portfolio/academic performance which takes qualified student direct to 2nd year. I have the offer with advance standing, the program is 2.5 yrs for me.
Nazal Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 (edited) Yes, now that you mention it I do remember there being an advanced standing option however I basically neglected it because I do not have the prerequisite courses necessary to qualify. I will be starting in first year. Edited March 30, 2011 by Nazal
