Hi All !

So far, I have admits from the following universities. had applied for MS in Computer Science.

1) University of Texas Dallas (6 Prerequisites)

2) Portland State University (3 Prerequisites ) : Definitely won't go here

3) Indiana University - Bloomington - ($1500 Scholarship + $800 travel expenses)

4) Syracuse (3 Prerequisites + 30% Tuition Fee Waiver)

5) University of Georgia

6) Case Western Reserve University (No Prerequisites)

I am planning to specialize in Artificial Intelligence. Help me decide my destination. I am really perplexed.

How reputed is Case Western ? Is Case the best of my admits ?

I'm a graduating senior at Case, majoring in computer science and something else. I haven't actually had any interaction with any of the AI stuff, classes or otherwise. However, overall (with some exceptions), I've thought that the classes were a bit too far on the easy side. This includes grad level classes, and is especially true compared to classes in my other major.

One other thing: I'm not sure how much you've researched Case, but medicine is huge here. The medical / biomedical engineering type stuff is by far Case's strongest suit, and that has a pretty strong influence on... just about everything. All fields here have a lot of research that's very much biology, so if you like biology, this is a pretty great thing.

As for your other schools, just going by the U.S. News rankings, Syracuse is the other one you should be looking at. I don't know anything about that.

The people are nice enough to make it an entirely reasonable climate to do a Master's in, I think. Basically, I would say that if easy classes and research that is more often than not very heavily biology-related sound good to you, you should definitely come here.

How reputed is Case Western Reserve University really? I have admits from Indiana Bloomington and CASE but I feel CASE is definitely a better school. Though quite expensive, I find CWRU has a very good course work. I am planning to do my masters in Computer Science (specializing in Artificial Intelligence).

How good is the EECS dept. of CASE?

How good is the CS dept. and what are the current research works going on in the field of AI in CASE? Heard CASE has a co-op program and they host career fairs to bring in recruiters.

Someone plz shed some light regarding these doubts. I am choosing CWRU over Indiana . Is it wise decision coz I'll be spending abt $15000 more in CWRU compared to Indiana.

CASE grad students and seniors plz give your verdict.
