Are deposits always required for accepting admission?

I just accepted my admission in to a CS master's program. They did not require me to pay some deposit. Is this normal? I do not have any funding from the school and it is one of the IVYs

Thought about calling them but did not want to be a hassle.

I think it varies, one school I was admitted to required a deposit, even though they gave me funding, while others don't seem to. You could always ask your department secretary - I'm sure it wouldn't be a hassle

None of the programs I've been admitted to have asked for deposits.

I didn't pay a deposit for my master's or PhD programs.
