snep Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 (edited) I will (most likely) be heading to Notre Dame for a Chemical Engineering PhD this Fall....Anyone else? Anyone planning to live on campus? Edited March 25, 2011 by snep
direshark Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Heading there myself! At the end of this crazy road, I'll hopefully have a PhD in Sociology. I've elected to live off campus in an apartment I found off Craigslist - mainly because I'd prefer to live alone, and they don't seem to offer any graduate housing for that.
snep Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 Oh thats great. I would prefer to live alone too but am considering grad housing for the convenience of commuting especially during winters. There are 2 bedroom apartments in Fischer grad housing which house 2 students- so you have your own room and share a living room, kitchenette and the bathroom. having your own room will be a little more private than having to share a house with 4 in the O'Hara grad housing... Did you make a campus visit ? How did you like it? Did you get to see the Fischer housing and the campus dining areas? It'll be great if you can share a few details!

My visit was for an interview, so while they did do a standard formal campus tour, I didn't really get to see much in detail. I unfortunately did not even get a glimpse at the graduate housing, though I've seen floorplans and general descriptions on ND's website. There's another thread on here - I think it's in the City Guide - which has plenty of information on housing in general in South Bend. Ah, here we go!
