I've been accepted into both SIPA (MPA) and the Harris School (MPP), and was wondering if I could get insights from those who have experiences with either/ both programs?

Bit of background: I'm interested in education policy, both domestically and internationally, though I realize that may change once I actually begin taking courses. Funding is a moot point right now.

List of factors I've collected from reading other threads / would like input on:

- Mentoring opps / relationships with professors

- Post-grad job placement

- Alumni network

- Diversity of course offerings (incl. w/other depts) & how relationships btw diff grad programs are?

- Grad school community

- Location: affordability, safety, feasibility of internships

Additionally, is it worth visiting the schools in person to help with the decision process? I did an undergrad tour of Columbia's campus, but have never been to UChicago's campus / the area. I'd only be able to make Chicago's, but not Columbia's due to work conflicts.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hello, I am sorry I don't have any answers or insights for you. My problem though is similar to you i have admits from:

1. Cambridge, uk: phd

2. Columbia univ: masters

3. Chicago: harris: MPP

4, Minnesota: humphrey: MDP

5. LSE: Masters in International Dev

6. U of Boston: MA in Global Dev Policy

and am trying to decide between the top three. My background is in environment and climate. I would love to know anything else you have found out, since your post.
