Thank you! I only know something about Georgetown. It is one year and a half program and you can have RA.
Bruin123 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 It also depends on what you want to do afterwards. The MS and MPH are vastly differnent degrees: generally MS programs are very heavy in applied methodology training, programming, and some theoretical statistics, whereas the MPH emphasizes broad perspectives across all fields of public health with just a few extra classes in Biostats. And if you are considering eventually going for a PhD in the subject, an MS is much better preparation. Also, MS programs tend to be cheaper/easier to find RA positions (the MPH is considered a professional degree program, the MS an academic).

Academia may be a good choice for me. I am an international student. Are you in the US? Is an MS there only preparation for a Phd in the same subject? Do most people in the US with MS degrees go for a Phd or immediately start working?
tubaby Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Does anyone know the employment situation of graduates from University of Pittsburgh?
