kmd87 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I applied to an MSW program for Fall 2011 with a concentration in community organization. I am now having second thoughts about that concentration. If I were to do a concentration in COSA, would I still be able to do direct practice with individuals if I decided against community organization? I wasn't sure if a COSA concentration would prepare you at all for direct practice. Thanks!
michigan girl Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Community organization and social administration is a MACRO practice specialization. It deals with policy, community organizing and administration at the policy and societal levels. If you prefer to do direct practice with individuals and families, you should select the DIRECT or INTERPERSONAL or CLINICAL specialization.
