Dunken Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Hi I'm an international applicant (already 34). I took the GRE three years ago and bombed it (V:410 Q:720AW:3). However, because of a strong background I’ve got a Fulbright scholarship and did my MS in CS at NEU in Boston (GPA around 3.8). Now because of the great distant program I’m considering applying for the MSandE program at Stanford. I have a lot of work experience and good LoR… Would you retake the GRE? Could age be an issue? Thank you for your opinion!!
enginerd Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I think it is against the law for them to discriminate on the basis of age. I know in an interview it is illegal for them to even ask you how old you are (even though you usually put your DOB on stuff so it doesn't make sense, but that doesn't matter I guess).
canberra Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Age would definitely not be an issue, but the low verbal is definitely a problem. I would retake, to maximize chances.
