Ross17 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Got into both, debating on which one to attend. Don't know too much about the NYU Global Affairs program. The IR program at Seton Hall seems more well known. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
WhateverHappens Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I dont' know much about Seton Hall but the best NYU IR Professors teach the Master of Arts in International Affairs at the Graduate School of Arts and Science.
Ross17 Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Thanks. Anyone else think one is better than the other? I'm trying to find out which is better in terms of employment opportunities
bblucy Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Thanks. Anyone else think one is better than the other? I'm trying to find out which is better in terms of employment opportunities Hi! I can't speak to NYU's program, but I graduated from SHU as an undergrad diplomacy major several years ago. I'm sure you've seen the internship/job info they list on their site, and as an undergrad I know that a lot of students were able to find very competitive internships during the summer/semester. I'm not sure how the costs of the programs compare, but with Seton Hall the cost of living should be lower and you will still have access to NYC internships/networking opportunities that will help when looking for a job later on (I wouldn't view not studying directly in NYC as a negative--it's very easy to get into the city). I know the alumni network is pretty active in the NY/DC area. The Whitehead school seems to be continually developing and working to advance the program and I know that the university itself strongly supports Whitehead's programs. They have some superb professors who are very willing to work with students and overall the program has a very friendly and personal feel to it. I hope this information helps and I would be happy to try to answer any other questions you may have!
