ChicagoScientist Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I was wondering if anyone could recommend math departments where I could earn a Ph.D. in mathematical physics. I am a rising junior at the University of Chicago double majoring in math and physics. My GPA is only about 3.5 in math courses, but I'm taking a somewhat lighter course load this year, and I'm only taking math and physics courses. I should have some impressive recommendations and research experience by the time I apply to graduate school. Thanks!
hartshorneBoy Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Columbia is a great choice. With Greene and Judes and such, they make a great place to do this. There is a Math Physics research group, as well as joint work with their inst. for Astrophysics Strings and Cosmology. Look it up! EDIT: Think Penn and MIT too.
