Sally13 Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I am in the process of looking at schools to apply to for MA in political science. I was wondering how competitive poli sci MA programs are. I am really hoping to go someplace in the south- especially Florida International University. I meet the requirements listed on their website, how likely is it that I will be accepted? On average, how likely is it to be accepted into Political Science MA programs when you meet the school's requirements?
annapanna Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Id say you have a pretty good chance, however i think it depends on each school. I fit the requirements for my school online, so i decided to go to an open house for my program. There I met with a professor who told me I was a great fit for the program and after that day, the department kept in contact with me. As soon as my application was in, I was accepted. Im not sure how much of that was due to that I met with someone from the program and how much was simply due to me being a good fit for the program. My recommendation: if your school has an open house, go to it.
