I am in the process of looking at schools to apply to for MA in political science. I was wondering how competitive poli sci MA programs are. I am really hoping to go someplace in the south- especially Florida International University. I meet the requirements listed on their website, how likely is it that I will be accepted? On average, how likely is it to be accepted into Political Science MA programs when you meet the school's requirements?

Id say you have a pretty good chance, however i think it depends on each school. I fit the requirements for my school online, so i decided to go to an open house for my program. There I met with a professor who told me I was a great fit for the program and after that day, the department kept in contact with me. As soon as my application was in, I was accepted. Im not sure how much of that was due to that I met with someone from the program and how much was simply due to me being a good fit for the program. My recommendation: if your school has an open house, go to it.
