Hi everybody,

So I am applying for graduate school scholarship and I don't know what I was thinking but I turned in a personal statement while they asked for a cover letter. I addressed everything they required, but, you know, they're not the same. This is so important to me but I cannot change it because the deadline has passed. Am I doomed?

Hello comehome,

Your concern is a valid one and this may or may not count against you. Following the requirements of a scholarship are important and with "x" number of applications they receive, one of the first things they'll look for are ways to eliminate candidates and not giving them what they are asking for is one way to be eliminated. I certainly would not say you are doomed from getting this scholarship but if this could be a lesson to you for future things you apply for, be sure you read what their requirements are.

All the best,

Thanks ProReviewer. That's definitely what I'm thinking about. But I think it is a good lesson. I can't imagine that I made such a mistake :(.
