I am planning to apply for masters in political science. I completed my 4th year this april but I will be going back for another year to complete two more credits. Here are my stats:

CGPA: 2.80

GPA of my last two years: 3.58 and 3.60 respectively with five 4.0s in 3rd and 4th year political science courses.

GPA of polisci courses in last 2 yrs: 3.71

Have asked three professors to write me strong reference letters. They all know me and my research work really well so I am hoping they will write strong letters.

My goal is to get into UBC and my second preference is University of Alberta. What are my chances of getting into UBC? I hope graduate students who have completed a masters at UBC can help me with this.

Second, does it matter whether you have done your undergrad from a known university or not? I am a UofT student in the polisci specialist program.
