acr Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) I received an admit from NYU-Poly (MS Computer Science) last month and have one week to pay a $300 tuition deposit, or my admit gets revoked. I began to regret selecting this school after submitting my application, as I came to read some not so good opinions of Poly on the internet. This being my only admit after a string of rejects, I would have paid the deposit straight away if I wasn't yearning for Rutgers. RU is notorious for sending out decisions late, some even in June. So I'm in a dilemma, whether to pay the deposit and forgo $300 if Rutgers admits me, or forgo the admit and risk waiting for Rutgers. Does anyone know how exactly good Poly is? I know NYU-Poly lowly ranked, but is it worth attending and comparable to Rutgers? My top priority is getting a quality educational experience and getting my hands dirty in research, since I may consider going for a PhD in the future. Also everyone who I've come across with an admit has received a $4k-$11k fee-waiver (including myself). Should I interpret this as an act to attract students, which signals that something is wrong at the university? Edited May 4, 2011 by acr mosenabdoli 1
