Scalia Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Can someone in these programs speak to the difference between masters and doctoral degrees in statistics if you have a career industry in mind. I know that some programs are more applied like NCSU and VA tech, but is the doctoral degree really worth the extra time or is there greater opportunities/compensation?

I know that some programs are more applied like NCSU and VA tech, but is the doctoral degree really worth the extra time or is there greater opportunities/compensation? I am wondering the same thing. I worry though that this isn't the place to ask, given that it's a forum for students and people who are already out there in the work force.
