mercea Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Hi everyone, I am currently a 2nd year PhD student in computer science. I applied for a transfer to another school so I could be close to my husband but the school put me on a wait-list for funding for so long that I have lost hope. I am deciding to just stay where I am and commute back and forth to see my family. In applying to the school, I got really interested in a particular Professor's research on games (there is no research on games being done in my present school). I have been able to convince my advisor to let me work on a project (which could possibly turn into my thesis) that ties his research with games. To work on this project, I would need someone who is an expert in video game research. Does it make sense to ask the games Prof to be a collaborator or a co-supervisor? How do I go about this? I am not sure what I should say both to her and to my professor. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
