So there's exactly 3 professors that I've gotten to know/worked a lot with that I'd like to have write LORs for me. One of them is a professor from a neurobiology lab course; one of them is the PI in the lab that I was a student volunteer in (and I now work full-time in the lab since I graduated June 2010), and the other is.. well, I'm not exactly sure what her title is, to be honest. She's an assistant professor who works in the same lab as me. She's a step down from my PI but she's also a "boss" of sorts to me. I've gotten to know her pretty well, and I know she thinks well of me, so I was planning on asking both her and the PI for LORs.

My question is.. is it okay to ask both of them for LOR, or would it seem super redundant since I know them both from the same lab? Problem is, they're my best options. If I choose not to ask one, then I'd have to ask a random professor that barely knows me... which I'm assuming would be worse, but I thought I'd ask for opinions first.

Thanks in advance, guys

Sounds like going with this prof is your best choice. And unless someone from neuroscience steps in and says otherwise, I think it's perfectly normal and acceptable to get two letters from researchers in the same lab. I can't believe undergrads could be expected to have worked with profs from three different labs, that would be a bit excessive.
