Hi,

I have been wrestling with a decision for a while now, and today I discovered this site and thought I would share my dilemma on this forum.

As the topic title suggests, I'm wondering which degree 1. PhD in Sociology (with Soc. of Religion as an area of concentration) or

2. PhD in Theology

is looked at more favorably when applying for jobs (teaching and research)? Given what I've read over the past few weeks, it seems like a PhD in Soc. might increase the chances of finding work in this area more easily compared to the PhD in Theology, but I was curious if anyone might have some info about this that they could share.

Thanks again,

Melissa
