I'm just wondering which top 20 chemE masters programs I have a shot at with a 3.5 cumulative gpa and a 3.6 major gpa at UT Austin (ChemE)? I have two summers worth of internship experience and a year of research. GRE should be 750 Q and 500 V

you come from one of the best engineering schools in the country...you have a high GPA, the GRE score range is good, I think if you come from a top-10 school and you need to drop down in rankings for a top-20, you should be able to apply to all top-20 schools...take your pick...you probabely could also apply to top-10 schools and maybe even top-5 schools...obviously the more narrow your ranking choices the more your odds decrease.

Are you a domestic student or an international student?

To be brutally honest, your GREs are a bit low, but it depends on many factors such as grade trends, major gpa, related courses, school business model (yes. I feel like some schools just want money). Try to improve that quantitative score if you can.

Also, which rankings are you going by? US News, National Research Council, yours? I wouldn't look too much into rankings since I was accepted to a top 20 school, but rejected from a top 60 school. I ultimately chose a top 40 school though.
