CalBearPsych Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 So I took my GRE earlier today and made the mistake of not reading the instructions at the end of the test. My brain was just not functioning (my mind went blank during the Quant and Verbal.. Whoops) and I just couldnt read the screen. I did, however end up with an "analyze this issue" prompt. I'm probably just being paranoid, but this can't count for the essay scores, right? I wish I hadnt been so bleary-eyed, but I just clicked exit to be done with it.. Someone reassure me?
Safferz Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I haven't taken the GRE yet, but that sounds like an experimental AW section. I'm assuming you had already written two essays at the beginning of the test, so the third essay at the end is entirely voluntary. You're OK!
pizymisa Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I assure you that part doesn't count for your essay score. It's a survey and you probably get a essay format for the new GRE.
CalBearPsych Posted July 22, 2011 Author Posted July 22, 2011 Whew.. Thanks guys!! I'm just glad to be done with it.. Oh man, nerves can do the craziest things to you..
CalBearPsych Posted July 23, 2011 Author Posted July 23, 2011 I'm pretty hard on myself, but I was expecting 700+ in Verbal since all the mistakes I had made in all my practice tests were careless errors.. I ended up with a 670...but did manage to get a 740 in math though, so that was good. I honestly blindly guessed for a couple of reading comps and lots of Quant problems cause I just couldn't even read.. I'd never felt such sheer panic and brain freeze before. So taking all that into account, I guess I did pretty well lol. How'd it go for you, PsychYe?
