I'm curious how many applicants are interested in social work/welfare doctoral programs.

What are you research interests and what do you plan to do with the PhD?

Not sure if there's another thread on the forum related to this topic, but I'm applying to 3 doctoral programs.

2 social welfare: Berkeley & Penn

1 social policy: Brandeis

I'm interested in researching the nexus between the state (social welfare policy) & international development. It'll be great to hear from other applicants. Haven't seen too many posts from prospective Social Welfare doctoral students.

So I've been trying to patiently wait for my admin decision since I thought Social Welfare doctoral programs didn't get back to applicants until mid-March... However, I saw some posts on the Results page that said Berkeley emailed them about being put on the waitlist. Is this reliable?

Since I haven't heard from them should I consider it a rejection?

Yes, Berkeley has released their results. This year, they only admitted 4 doctoral students.

U Penn is still reviewing application materials.
