I just finished my first year in a psychology MA program. I did not receive funding for my second year and I moved home because I did not want to take out 30k in one year. I am now looking at online MA degrees that state universities conduct, not the ones from U Phoenix or other schools like that. Has anyone had any experience with these online MA degrees? I really just want to finish my MA degree and have it on my resume. I am most likely going to work outside the psychology realm but really want the degree.

Thoughts?

This really depends on your long term goals. I have to say that I am very skeptical that completing an online Master's in psychology is valuable unless they provide research or applied experience somehow.

Mr. Tea,

I really just want to get it because I have already finished one year of a program where I did research I may be a 3rd author on a publication with a great psychologist. There is a program at University of North Dakota who has a MA in forensic psychology. I like this program because if I kept with my studies, I would have applied to their PhD program. Additionally, they have a two week capstone project when you fly out to campus and work with professors and other students. I really just want to finish my degree without taking time off from trying to find a job.
