pussinboot Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Hi guys, I would like to know how the following univ.s compare with regards to funding MS petroleum eng. students.UTTAMULouisiana State UniversityUniversity Of PittsburghPenn State UniversityUniv. Of KansasUniv. Of Alberta I asked for Fall 2009 or Fall 2010 Funding Statistics and Annual Research Expenditures from the graduate co-ordinators but only TAMU was generous with that information. Please help me assess as an assistantship/ fellowship is almost indispensable to the pursuit of my graduate degree. Thanks a million.
ktel Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I attended the University of Alberta for my undergrad. I know their petroleum engineering department is VERY well funded and in general the engineering faculty provides quite generous funding to their graduate students. I'm surprised they wouldn't disclose that to you, as the mechanical department made their funding fairly clear when speaking with them.
pussinboot Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 That was really helpful. I believe the stress on "VERY" settles it then. Thank you, ktel.
