MPP Maestro Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Does the PMF app ask for mpp grades? Anyone know about for profit and non profit consulting gigs? I.E. LMI, Deloitte? My school seems to be more difficult than others to get straight a's.
mabaci Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Are you at Berkeley? What grades do most people get? And yes, according to my friend who became a PMF, they ask for current transcripts (so your MPP)
flyers29 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Yeah I think they do ask for transcripts for PMF, though as far as I know the test is pretty much what determines if you get selected or not.
MPP Maestro Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 Got it. So its a factor among many. I wanted to also know about consulting. It seems they all ask for gpa and transcripts. My guess these things plus the resume get u to to interview. THen its all up to your performance.
fso2k11 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 The consulting firms seem to all ask for grades. D3loitte and LMI. Moodys might too.
lattemoi Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 (edited) MPP Maestro, can you share with us which school you go to? And where the difficulty stems from (e.g: strong quantitative program). Thanks! Edited October 25, 2011 by lattemoi
egerth0013 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I wanted to clarify -- PMF does not consider transcripts or resumes at all in selecting finalists. They might be considered in two places: 1) by your university in determining nominations and 2) by the federal agency that actually hires you. PMF is a designation/fellowship, not a position, so you have to apply to positions once you are selected and agencies are free to consider your transcript then. PMFs are determined by the online and in-person assessments only. No idea about whether consulting firms ask for grades or if they matter. I can't imagine they are that helpful since most students -- at least in my program get B+s, A-s or A -- but maybe it is.
