Mystiqo Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Can someone explain how this "tier system" works? How do people decide what is a top tier school vs. a low tier school?
UnlikelyGrad Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 One way to do it is to check the US News rankings: http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/grad By my definition, 'top tier' is one of the top 10 or 15 schools in your subject area, 'middle tier' is on the list but not one of the top ones, and anything else is 'low'. Alternatively you can search by the Carnegie rankings--RU/VH (high intensity research school) vs. ...I don't remember the other rankings.
shai Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Hey unlikelygrad ! Where can i find the carnegie ranking you stated ? ? Thanks, Shai
