GRE Subj grading

For those who have already taken the subject exam, are they actually going to take 6 weeks to post the score? It's a scantron! I understand they want to give themselves a wide window, but why do they need that much time?

IIRC, you can pay to get scores by phone on the 12th? Which would be ~4 weeks?

A great deal of preparation and thought go into feeding the form into the scantron machine, that's why it takes so long. First they have to plug the machine in, then they have to feed in the form etc. It's quite complex.

But yes, if you give them even more money, you can get your scores a little sooner. I wonder what else they're willing to do if you just keep throwing more money their way?
