Hello everyone, I've applied to NYU's Steinhardt's Graduate TESOL program with Initial Certification

for the Spring 2012 semester. The deadline was November 1st, however, my applicatoin

was submitted early around October 10th, 2011. I'm wondering if any of you have also

applied for the spring semester at NYU Steinhardt and for those of you who have been

accepted or have any information on when they will let you know of their decision?

I'm applying from out of state in Atlanta, GA and I have many concerns such as

housing and moving etc...however, when I contact their graduate admissions office,

all I get is, "the turn around is quick"...and I get no real accurate date. I would sincerely

appreciate any information that any of you have to help relieve even a small bit of anxiety to

a fellow prospective grad student. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I am in the same boat, Decaf. I applied on the 10th and I have not heard anything at all. I imagine it will be about 2 more weeks since the application deadline is today. Unfortunately for me, I have heard that the Nutrition and Dietetics Program which I have applied to is notorious for responding with acceptance results later than other programs.

I really wonder if applying in the Spring helps or hinders the chances of being accepted. Also, I wonder if they are looking for more full time or more part time students.

Waiting is aggravating. Good Luck!

Thanks so much for responding...Kerry Perry Street, I was beginning to wonder if anyone was in the same boat I was in...I really need

on campus housing which is my main concern, not to mention arranging travel plans and moving along with knowing if I will have

guaranteed housing or not? I'm coming from out of state, so I'm not sure if that will gain some priority over those who are local??

Also, there is such a small window of time!! Classes are slated to begin for ALL departments in Graduate school on January 24th, 2012!

NYU is also slated to be CLOSED for the holidays from December 23rd - January 3rd! That means we have to:

1) Register for classes

2) Figure out financial aid

3) Secure housing

4) Move and arrange travel plans

ALL before January 24th! That's a small window of time....stressful...I wish you luck too! let me know if you hear anything!

Hi King Graduate- I know this is an old topic, but I am interested in NYU Steinhardt's MA in TESOL/Spanish Ed. I was wondering if you were accepted into the TESOL program? If so, could you tell me about it? Thanks! :)
