YellowSubmarine
Some of the programs I'm looking have applications due the same day that my GRE scores will be sent out (Dec. 1st). Does anyone know if my application would still be considered? Does this vary by program?
orst11
Typically, this depend on the program. Some programs want all materials by the deadlines whereas others make you just submit the application portion of your file before the deadline. Usually committees won't even start looking at apps until the beginning of the year so you may be in luck. Overall, it really never hurts to ask. kaykaykay
you should be ok. if you are in doubt check with the departments, but as far as my experience goes the programs understand that GRE scores and recommendations may arrive a few days late, because they are out of your hands. If you do not know your scores yet, put the date you took the test on the application form. Edited October 29, 2011 by kalapocska
YellowSubmarine
This makes me feel a little better. I've contacted the department and I'm waiting to hear back, we'll see what happens. Thanks for the input!
JCoy
I had the same issue but did contact the dept. and they said it was okay if scores arrive days later after the deadline.
YellowSubmarine
Just a quick update- they both said it was fine (although one asked me to send my unofficial scores ahead of time?). Thanks for the help, everyone!
