lateralus Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I started an MA in History this Fall, but have decided that it is not the right fit for me. Would it be advisable to spend another 1.5 years and complete the MA, or apply for MPP programs for next Fall? I have solid stats that would make me quite competitive, but does anyone have thoughts on how schools (esp. competitive ones such as SAIS or WWS) would look at leaving an MA program mid-way?
yo_yo86 Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Not sure how schools would view it, but if you could spin your story as "Look what I learned..." it might not hurt. Plus, you'll be saving money, which is important. You'd be better served by finding a relevant job for the 1.5 years than sitting in classes and writing papers that won't advance your career or admissions chances.
