Prof_Cao Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I've a better credential than yours (GRE 330, two papers, one in JSV), but I've already been rejected by texas austin. Gook luck, pal
The Grand Taco Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I have weaker credentials than the poster above me (GRE 325, and no papers) and I've already received a full-funded Ph.D. offer from UT-Austin. I don't know much about the particular program you've applied for, but it'll be difficult to predict your acceptance odds just based on quantifiable parameters (as evidenced here). I'm especially unversed on how your international stats compare with domestic stats, so I'm unable to comment on that. Do you have research experience/good relationships with your LOR writers/etc.? In any case, best of luck!
Swaroop Madhavan Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I have a Bachelors inNaval Architecture GRE 790Q 610V (1400) 4.0 W GPA 4/4 5 yrs wrk exp, 3 in Ship Building and Offshore, South. Korea Applied to : UT Austin, Texas A&M, Florida atlantic and Stevens Tech NJ. Still waiting for the results of my apps. This wait is killing me. Any idea when they will be out? @Raman I think your chances are good at Texas A&M, UT Austin has quite a different program cuz it isnt exactly oriented towards Ocean Engg. That said Texas A&M is a fantastic place for Ocean Engg.
gurumaster8899 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 As long as your stats show the slightest amount of potential...If you're a good fit, you'll get in.
