NObama Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Anyone with any information about the program, i.e reputation, etc. The website has so little information that frankly it scares me of the reputation of the program. Saying that however, they allow dual degrees with Stern so it cant be all bad. Anyone applying? I was thinking of between this and LSE for their MSc in IR as my 6th and final application. Thanks!
WhateverHappens Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 The program is much more academic than policy oriented. It depends on what are your goals.
NObama Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 I'm open to be honest. Although, I will conjure a goal for the personal statement, long-term I want to spend time abroad helping with development. I like the program because I can do a dual degree with Stern, and that quant element is definitely helpful with development work. I might consider a PhD long term. Are you familiar with the program? Would love to hear more thoughts about placement etc?
NObama Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Admissions are terrible in responding to emails!
yo_yo86 Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 (edited) Had a friend that went. Ended up overseas on a fellowship afterwards (not brand name). Not a bad gig, but she got the program paid for (she worked for the school), which makes a difference. Would be very hesitant to go otherwise as I have heard is that at least 50% of the grads have nothing lined up after graduation and it still doesn't have much of a name for itself.
