MS in Public Relations- Newhouse, BU COM, USC Annenberg, NYU SCPS

Hi all,

I'm looking to enroll in a Master's in Public Relations program in 2012. My top choices in order are:

1. Syracuse - Newhouse School

2. BU COM

2. USC Annenberg

3. NYU SCPS

I'm graduating in May with an Honours BA in International Relations from one of the best liberal arts school in Canada with a 3.5 GPA.

GRE

Verbal: 170

Analytical: 153

Writing: 5.0

I have a few months full-time experience in working for Communication in higher education.

I don't have a lot to contribute except to say that for anybody else anxiously waiting to see about graduate school I'm in the same boat. It would be great to hear from anybody applying to or currently studying at any of these schools what they think of them. Thanks for any input. Comments and questions are welcome.

Hi I'm applying to usc, bu comm and Syracuse too but for other comm programs. So far I finished the USC app, how did you check if USC and received your transcripts? It seems like USC isn't so good at communicating to its applicants.

And for BU, do they email you a notification when they receive any supporting documents?

Thanks for the reply. I heard a bit from USC. They've been pretty good about getting to me about what's missing from my application. They seem a little slow at processing but they've e-mailed me regarding the status of things. If you haven't heard from them within a week of submitting their application I would e-mail them directly.

I haven't actually finished my application to BU but I'll post here about that when I do.

Syracuse Stats

Generally receives about 150 applications for a class of 30. For this year 23% of our PRL students were male, 19% were international, 23% were minority and the average age was 24. GRE scores averaged in the mid 500’s on the old scoring with an analytical writing average of 4.5.
