fargond5429 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I have already RSVPed to two grad schools and then I just got another invitation whose two weekend options are ones that I already have filled up by other schools. The school is university of chicago and I live in Indianapolis, so it's not hard to drive up there. Would they schedule me on a random weekend? Or will they just drop me altogether? A phone interview maybe? I have no idea how this works. I really regret accepting one of the other invitations now because I really like UofC, but it's too late now. Anyone have experience with this?
isobel_a Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) Ask the program administrator whether it would be possible to set up an interview with a potential PI instead of attending the weekend. I don't think it's "too late" at all. I'm sure this happens all the time. I'm not in this same situation, but I will be visiting a potential PI at a school that hasn't sent out interview invitations yet, because the school is close enough that I can drive there. fargond5429 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 does not being able to attend the official "recruitment weekends" hurt my chances of being accepted?
