@ canuckBoy, I emailed the grad school last fri (17th Feb) havent gotten a reply yet. You say that Purdue will start giving out results from 17th Feb, when did you hear about that please ???

In addition last week (10th Feb) I emailed the advisor i am hoping to work with and he told me that the review is still going on and he himself has about 300 apps to review further.

I emailed on the 16th and got a reply on the same day that they will be sending out decisions starting on 17th and will do so for a month.

@CanuckBoy, dude just heard from vicki she says that my app is still under review. and yes the results are just starting to go out. We are advised to check the online statuses.

dude a guy i know contacted the grad school and apparently he was told that results would take another 3 weeks to roll out.

Hmm... where did he get that information? On the other hand, looking at history on the results page, that seems to be true.

he talked to the grad office ppl, but why would they tell you that results are out on the 17th of feb

Maybe some outstanding applicants are being admitted but the bulk in 3 weeks? She did say that they will roll out the decisions for month.

so let me ask you again, she said that they will start on the 17th (with giving out the results) and continue giving out for a month, right. So we can expect ours anytime within 17th feb - 17th March approximately.

I have been contacted by a professor from Purdue to see if I'm interested in his group. A sign that decisions will come soon.

I replied saying I'm interested and asked for more info on the projects. Will ask about funding if everything goes well.

He spammed a bunch of people I believe. He's hiring 4-5 students for the fall so I'm guessing he spammed people that put him as a potential supervisor or something.

BTW, do you know if multiple professors want you, not saying this is the case for me, what happens, you have a list of supervisors to choose from?

I hate to be Debbie Downer here but I think our chances of getting in have just gotten alot slimmer. I was waiting on MIT, Caltech and UCSB, but I am putting those down as pretty much rejects now. Many people already got offers from these schools on the results page and its relatively uncommon for them to give out offers later.
