bauhaus Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 i know its not extremely important but why is that some programs apparently dont have waitlists (eg. NYU) any ideas?
orst11 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Some programs just either 1) have better yields 2) know their yields better than others 3) have the money. A lot of top programs don't have waitlists because they also do assume that there will be plenty of other students wanting to work with Prof. X next season. It also is easier to not have waitlists in general.
Max Power Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 also, i'd imagine some programs have wait lists without calling them such. they admit some people, reject some others and wait to see what happens. then they admit some more and reject some more and continue that way until their class is filled without ever officially wait listing anyone
