Hello! I was wondering if anyone else is considering STEP. I would like to chat with prospectives or anyone who has experience with the program. I might visit the campus, if I'm able to scrounge up some money. Hope to hear from you (whoever you may be) soon! :)

Hey, I'm considering STEP-Elementary. It seems like a very unique & strong program, but it's kind of far away from where I live, so it's not my top choice right now, but I like it. Feel free to message me [although I don't know too much about the program].

Hi mcvcm!

That is pretty far for you!... basically from coast to coast. What other progams are you considering? And from what you know, what about STEP makes it seem like a "unique and strong" program to you? And what initially led you to apply there? These are questions I asked myself as well, but I'd like to see other people's perspectives. Btw, I am also considering STEP-Elementary (it is one of my top two choices currently). :)

Has anyone heard back from STEP yet?

I know there has been at least a few decisions judging from the admissions result site. Last year, it seems that STEP began phoning accepted students the Friday before the week that includes March 1, but it doesn't seem to be the case this year.

(I applied to STEP-Secondary/Social Studies)

I heard back from them on the 16th of Feb. I am applying to STEP-Elementary, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with your not hearing back yet. Maybe Secondary hears back later for whatever reason? I'm sure you will hear back by this-coming week though!

Congrats, hello3angel!

I do know that STEP-Secondary Math has already begun hearing back, but I've yet to hear anything about STEP-Social Studies applicants receiving phone calls or otherwise. My hope is still alive for the time-being!

Thank you! Yes, I really think you should be hearing back by this-coming week for sure. Best of luck!

Hey angel!

I'm also considering Columbia, NYU, Brown, UPenn & Fordham -- although I'm only a sophomore in undergrad, I've just started looking around. Stanford just seemed interesting because of the small number of students and it has a really good rep. The program just seems like it prepares really good teachers and I'd consider going "coast to coast" for it!

Hello,

Has anyone heard back from Stanford STEP English? I am waiting to hear, and I don't know if they have started calling yet. Have most of you been receiving calls rather than e-mails? (Online it said all the STEP programs would be sent electronically starting March 1).

Thanks!

Yeah, I got waitlisted as well for STEP English. I asked how many people are waitlisted to see if it's worth waiting until April, but they said that they do not disclose any personal information about it. Yay for more waiting...
