Anybody else going for nuclear engineering?

I've been applying to PhDs in nuclear engineering, and I wonder if there's anybody else around to talk with about it. I see that there are at least two other people who are active enough to say that they got into North Carolina.

What do you guys think about the usnews rankings of schools? I applied to (and really like) RPI's program, but see it as fairly low-ranked (not even in the top 10). Where are your top picks, etc?

I applied to Nuc E programs. I was a little surprised by just how few people on this forum applied to Nuclear Eng.

I applied to OSU, UW-Madison, Berkeley and MIT. I haven't heard back from Berkeley, but I got into the other 3 (PhD OSU and Wisc, SM MIT), all with funding.

I will be going to the OSU open house tomorrow and Wisconsin next week. I've been talking to some of the Wisconsin profs but 2 of them already told me they aren't looking for grad students next year, and one was rather short in his replies. Not exactly the most welcoming, or promising introduction to a program. They are certainly dropping rather quickly on my list, despite being the #2 Nuc E school.

I apply to U of Michigan, GaTech, Oregon State U, and Texas A&M. I have not heard anything from all of them. Do you know when to expect the results from these school?
