Can I tell TC is Columbia University?

I'm a international student. So I don't know exactly about reputation of TC among people who do not major in education and whether TC is just one of colleges which affiliate with to columbia.

If I enter the institution, can I tell people i'm a columbia university student?

I went to TC and I put Columbia University's Teachers College on my resume. Also, you can take classes at Columbia (or at least you could when I went quite some time ago) and it is right next to the main part of the campus.
