Hi all,

Has anyone heard anything from Carleton or Ryerson Canadian Masters of Journalism Programs?

I was waitlisted for Carleton and just wondering if anyone has gotten in and what the deadline is for letting them know, or if anyone applied for Ryerson. I haven't heard anything from them yet.

Any info you can share would be helpful!

I applied to both. Wait listed for Carleton just like you, and still waiting to hear back from Ryerson.

Hi I am still waiting to hear back from Ryerson, but I got an email from Carleton today requesting an interview for Monday. I called Carleton this week and they told me they were making a decision soon. I also called Ryerson and they sent out first round and are waiting to give out any waitlists and further acceptances I think.

I don't even know if they got my application. On their online login, it looks as if I hadn't applied, but I have a login? It's weird.

I know they sent them out because I called and said I had other offers but was waiting on Ryerson and Carleton, and the graduate supervisor said Ryerson has sent out first offers, and advised me that if I had somewhere else I should take it and not wait on them. She said they made more than enough offers to fill the program, but that doesn't mean everyone will accept right? So there is still a chance for everyone.

Congrats to you, I think getting a phone interview means you got in to Carleton. Clearly you need to take your time and think all the options over, but would be super helpful for us waitlisters to know if you decide to accept, and when the deadline for deciding is, so we can have some indication of when we might hear something.

I know Ryerson has sent out their first round offers because I received one. Handed in my deposit today. Good luck to the rest of you!

Hey there,

This might be a late response but on the website it says they will pick names from the waiting list the first week of August. But when I was emailed and told I was put on the waiting list I was told they begin sending them out as early as mid April. If the waiting list has 10 people on it like the website claims, half of those ten seem to be on this very forum haha. I'm super anxious I wish they would tell us what number we are on the waiting list.

Hey,

I ended up getting second round acceptance to Ryerson and I'm going, so that frees up at least one spot on the Carelton waiting list, if that helps at all. Haven't heard anything back from Carleton since they first told me I was waitlisted.I asked what number I was and they told me, so maybe it wouldn't hurt to ask them?
