timquijano Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Hi all, I'm deciding between attending Indiana SPEA or Duke Nicholas (environmental policy MPA/MEM). I'm comparing costs, and wondering if many Indiana University grad students have been able to attain residency status for tuition purposes (for the second year). Please share your experiences if you have any advice. The registrar's office has been vague. I know in other states (CA for example) it's pretty simple to attain residency as a grad student after the second year.
kaguyahime Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I don't believe that you can get residency. In order to get residency, you have to be able to prove that you have lived in Indiana for at least one year for purposes OTHER than education. That means that your first year at school doesn't do anything to help you attain residency. You might check here: http://www.indiana.e.../resiinfo.shtml
