Vokram Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) Hey guys, I am a 3rd year undergraduate student who is planning to apply for Ph.D next semester, and I'm looking for researches in the coming summer, though seems I have hit on some obstacles.... I am a quite mathematics and statistics oriented student, so I'm pretty sure that I will be applying for econometrics or mathematical economics next semester. Ideally I would be hoping to do something in econometrics, but seems there aren't many good opportunities in our school on this topic.... There are, however, some really good ones in demography and labor. I read through the profile of many of our faculty members, and found that many econometricians actually are also heavily involved in demography. So my question is, how close are econometrics (or mathematical econ) related with demography? Is such an experience going to be helpful when I apply for Ph.D in econometrics? help! any opinions would be very much appreciated Edited March 29, 2012 by Vokram
