I applied for MS in EE at various UCs and I'm still waiting to hear from a majority of them:

UCLA (no news)

UCSD (no news)

UCI (no news)

UCD (no news)

USC (not a UC, but still no news)

It's already April and I know most colleges follow the "unofficial" April 15th deadline, so is it normal to wait this late to hear from a university? I'm starting to panic here!

I contacted UCD for a response, and this is what I got:

The PhD and MS admissions process, while not officially concluded, is virtually over. Please keep in mind that while it is possible that more students will be admitted, it is far more likely that there will be no more admits. If you do not hear back from Graduate Studies or the ECE Department by April 15th, it is safe to assume you will not be admitted this year.

Sounds like I'm going to be rejected :(

Thanks for the responses guys. I thought I was the only one who hadn't heard back, but I see that I am not alone. How long are you guys going to wait for responses (i.e. if you have backups or other options, how long before you choose that rather than wait indefinitely)?

I am going to wait until april 15th and then email the admissions directors for feedback on my profile .I would love to know the reason for being rejected.

@mallom

You should hear something from UCR, I would call the department recruitment adviser and talk to them about it. I hope you will go to UCR in the Fall with me also because I feel that I am the only one in this forum that is going to UCR.

Ok. Sounds good. I was also thinking about waiting until the deadline. On an unrelated note, are MEE programs (masters in electrical engineering or any masters in engineering, I think) generally 1 year programs?
