nicdic Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Hi everyone, As 415 is about to come, I guess some people are still hesitating to make the decision. This is just for these people. I myself,is one of them. Swaying between GPPI and JHU MPP. My interest is in health policy and it seems JHU would be the perfect match. Well, it is just that rumer has it that Baltimore is a dangerous place...As a "tinny" woman, I'm kind of freak out. But still, it is JHU and they have Bloomberg!! Who knows what will happen after MPP transfered to this great school! But one thing that I care a lot is whether the faculties are approachable. If JHU MPP, located in its original campus, Homewood, it seems the chances for meeting with these health faculties are quite limited. ----This is my thought about this program. I DON'T see much discussion about this program (SAIS, mostly). GPPI, well, no scholarship( too bad..) , but great faculties ( not sure about the health policy faculties, but I guess won't be as strong as Bloomberg) G'town impressed me on its balance between profession and academia ( if I pursue top Poli Sci PHD degree in the futuer,). Of course, a safe place with beautiful scenery. Chances for learning foreign lauguages, attending course from other departments (like Poli Sci) are attractive to me. For those who are in the same situation with me: It is hard to make the decision but things could change and the one that you care a lot at this stage maybe not that crucial at all in the long run. So pick one and try hard to make it the one you want! I am very much leaning to GPPI now and I think my final step is to read carefully the faculty's website and submit the 500$. Looking forward to see you guys responses. questions and advices are both welcomed. Always good to share!
